Geoff instructed me on how to enjoy coffee. We were maybe 15. I said I liked coffee white with sugar. He told me that you have to drink it black, with no sugar, just a pinch of salt to take the bitterness away. I tried it, once. I was never sure if he was being serious or just winding me up.
